What is keeping us from being able to use GG?
If you are running 1.5, theres your reason. Otherwise if you are rooted and flash the custom 2.0 or 2.1, you would be able to use it perfectly fine.
wrong...........the roms for 2.0 and 2.1 do not have a working camera
sprint and htc dragging their feet to get us the update is whats keeping you from using it
when goggles was first announced they said it was for 1.6+
They lied. Blaim Sprint and HTC, Sprint cause they take forever to make any software updates to of their devices. HTC because they are spread so thin with all the android devices under production, development, testing, research, maintenance that we really get a very small slice of the pie being that our Hero is a "finished" product.
What does it matter? The hero is 1.5 and going straight to 2.1. At this point in time people need to remove 1.6 from their brain, any and all phones that would be updated to 1.6 have been. All others that are stuck on 1.5 will be going to 2.1......well phones I care about at least.
I really can't wait for Google Goggles...it will provide a lot of entertainment for me as I sit on the toilet. No longer will I wonder what all this weird crap is that my wife keeps in the bathroom.
What I meant was, if you have 1.5- it will not work...it is only compatible with 1.6 and above.

I don't think its Sprint and more about HTC and the whole Android scene. They keep exclusivity on Android versions for the Droid and Nexus One to give those models a boost. Sprint is really fast with Palm Pre updates.
Once again Kenny, pure awesomeness. LOL
Ladies and gentlemen of Androidforums.com, I present to you, despite the fact that we're only in January, THE 2010 FORUM QUOTE OF THE YEAR!!
I pretty much just fell out of my chair reading that. Thank you for that
its all about the ridiculous Sense UI! HTC needs to stop using that as base an just offer it as a home replacement market app. They could charge for it and be as slow as they want about offering a new version.
Yeah, it's been a whole 2 days since 2.1 was released, what's taking them so long?!
googles is cool, i've been using it for a couple of days just taking pictures of everything hahaha.
Whole 2 days since it was released to the public. HTC has had access to it for a while now.
