I just bought one of these phones off of ebay. Is the only available insurance for the phone through Squaretrade or do Sprint officer insurance also on these phones?

Its packaged and brand new...never been opened.

if the phone is having problems they try to replace in store if they are out and you order before 2pm cst 90% of the time you have it next day.

i have used it probably 6 times with the palm pre, all covered as hardware failure so no deductible.

i would give sprint a 5 out of 5 in regards to their warranty

I have had to use the insurance several times on the BB Tour. Every time I had an issue with my phone I took it to sprint, they would have one of their techs look at it, if they couldn't fix it they would give me a replacement within 2 business days. I wouldn't own a high priced phone without it.

I don't know that'd I'd root the phone but as an IT worker I tend to like administrator access to the hardware I own... if I do that and I have insurance, what then? I don't mean as in if I brick the phone will they cover it, but if there is an unrelated problem with the phone but I've got a rooted phone, will they refuse to help me?

I tried 4 times spoke with all supervisors in each dept they wouldn't budge. It's ok though, I came to realize we should take advantage of the free services that comes with the HTC EVO Google I/O phones. I don't think I'm going to come across free web/call/4G hotspots for a month ever again. And plus, it's not that much of a big deal for me to carry my other phone (HD2) since it is pretty slim.

The rule of thumb is to always put your phone back to stock before bringing it in for service (if possible). That way they do not have a reason to deny your claim (custom ROM, bootloader, etc).

o and make sure u use the version of android stock that you initially had on it cause sometimes there may not be an updated root method for it yet

I bought a Evo off of ebay and I'm suppose to have it tomorrow. I really want to insure it also. So do anyone know if after i activate it on my line of service, if I can get the Sprint Insurance for it?

Also what all would the Sprint Insurance cover?

I guess if I'm unable to get the Sprint Insrance, then there's always Squaretrade.

**Sorry if this is a repost**

yes it is a repost. and yes you can register it on your own line if you call the special number on the paper. if you can't find the paper, check the stickies.
and yes you can add insruance on your line

Sorry about the repost. I know I can activate it on my line on June 4. However, that's not what I'm asking. I'm trying to find out if I will be able to get the Sprint Insurance for the phone since it's a Google I/O Evo and not the Evo that comes out on the 4th.

I think i sufficiently answered your question. you can add insurance when you change it to your line!
