I had to uninstall the previous Chrome-to-Phone app in order to install the market version. I had v1.6 and the market version is 2.0.

I installed the voice search update but haven't tried it yet. It works along with the search button on the phone so you don't need the icon or widget if you don't want it. Just hold down the search button and it will come up. First time you run it, it gives you the help screen. After that there is a help button.

Chrome to Phone works awesome. I love it.

Voice search... ugh. I got it to do a txt message once, and launch music a few times. Hardly worth the frustration of it not finding contacts though. Its way easier/faster to just find them myself.

Voice actions does not work well for me for sending texts. I tried for 30 minutes to get it to load up a text to send to one of my contacts. Each time it would load up the "send text" box, but it would put the name of the contact in the body of the text, not the "TO" line. Am I doing something wrong? I say "Send text to John Smith" in a normal voice, just like the video, and it loads up the text box but puts "John Smith" in the body of the text. Bah. I was excited about this. I'd like to text while I drive.

Update what clock. This is my first Android and when I went to market to search for Google Clock nothing came up. The clock on the Evo is from HTC via Sense, right?

So basically, 5-6% of Android users can be happy, while the rest of us get squat?:eek::(

Yeah, I have the same problem. It put everything I say after "send text" in the message. Lame.

I think it only works for Froyo. And search bar is just a widget called Google Search.

How much time does it take for you guys to receive the Chrome to Phone links after you send it from Chrome?

It's not working too good for me so far. Received one web link after several minutes but never received the other 4 attempts:thinking:

I can't get anything working related to contacts. I tried calling a contact using voice search and it can't find any of my contacts. It returns business names. I can't get this to work on text message or email either.

Using voice to go to a website or for navigation works for me but nothing related to my contacts work properly.

    Am I missing something?

Thanks, yeah, somethings amiss with mine. As I was just reading your post, my phone alerted me to a Chrome to phone that I sent over 25 minutes ago:p

Edit:I guess it's some temporary network/google server/gravity/moon or whatever else I can guess and blame issue. I just sent a test email to my gmail and I still haven't received it on my phone, it usually takes seconds.

Get Vlingo instead. It's now free! Plus, it's much, much, much more accurate and way faster.

I haven't used Vlingo, so I had to look it up to see what all it did. You sure it's free? Their website shows $10 Vlingo Products

They just issued a press release that since Google has upper their game, they're going to offer Vlingo for free. I downloaded it from the market, and it's definitely free.

Yup looks like Vlingo is now free. But the google one seems easier to use since you can just press and hold the search soft button so you can activate it quickly. Can you map Vlingo to the search button?

Nevermind it you can select vlingo when you hold down the search button.
