Google keyboard issue

Hi all... First post here. I've recently upgraded to a mate 10 pro and have a really annoying issue with my Google Keyboard. If I misspelled a word I get the usual red line underneath and suggestions in the bar above my keyboard. However when I press the suggestion it adds a completely different word. In fact most of the time it isn't even a word but the start of the word then random letters. Has anybody else had this issue? Also when I press and hold the full stop button to raise the symbols (question mark etc) when I slide across to the desired symbol it adds a different symbol. Really frustrating.

I've had the same issue, so I think it's something they need to fix.
