How much have people played around with this app? I find it both amazing and scary. Only had it running a couple of days, but very curious to see it mapping my location history.

Has anyone tried the so called "routine" learning features, where it alerts you if a friend comes within range when your outside your routine locations? How long did it take to suss out your routine?

I love the idea of this thing coming onstream just as the festival season kicks off. "Navigate to Jennie" is going to a lot of fun in a big crowd! But then won't Latitude be constantly alerting me everyday of the festival? Could get annoying! But I love the idea of going out on a night and using latitude for everyone to meet up. The only snag is the map scales we have currently aren't detailed enough to make it really useful.

But what other uses have people found for it?

Another thing I don't understand is that Google My Tracks and Latitude seem to duplicate their functionality a bit - why do they overlap them?

Latitude could really be a lot of fun. Or a lot of trouble. Any opinions?:rolleyes:

It's the sort of thing i'd like, i think Google Buzz maybe replacing it though.

Buzz just lets you post with your location attached - Latitude shows those bubbles (along with the "nearby" feature of the buzz app) on the map. But the Latitude API is where you'll see new apps using the info that Latitude provides. Question is - what uses will people think for it?

Latitude is scary in that it shows your exact position.
I'd prefer it if you could offset it in someway, or make it default to just the first part of a postcode. Ie ab12 3cd would show as ab12 3

I tried it for a bit, but as I don't know anyone else using it, it felt pretty lonely out there lol!

You can send out a 'Latitude invite' from the menu, to anyone you want to be able 'see'. Pretty cool if all your close friends are on it, and you're on a night out, etc.

I'd also like to know if being Latitude-enabled sucks significantly more juice, or anything else?? Is it worth keeping enabled? As mine is on 24/7...

How does that work when I'm lost in a sea of iphone and blackberry users?

I didn't think it was worth stating the obvious but they also have to been Latitude/Android enabled too, I presume???
