Help Google maps lagging, droid x

Google maps lags and freezes my phone just about every other time I use it, forcing me to pull the battery. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

I'm rooted, running stock rom/theme, and using adfree android.

No way. Its the only app that does it.

It's been freezing for me the last few days too.... I feel like it's trying to download something/auto suggestions and freezes until it does... and if you don't have good data available... =\

I'm having this problem constantly now... are we alone?? It always freezes and asks to force close or wait... ofcourse, it eventually comes up, but it takes atleast 30 seconds!

This is happening to me EVERY time I go to use maps. It instantly freezes and my two options are to pull the battery or wait for it to eventually auto reboot.

There are other issues as well and they all happened after the update a few weeks ago.

The backlight will stay on at times although the screen is dark. The screen will at times not come out of being dark even though the button is pressed. The unlock pattern will at times lag and not recognize the initial touch.

Everything was perfect until that update. I instantly started to notice the issues.

Yep mancow, sounds exactly like my problem. I guess this isn't hurting everyone, or I'd imagine this thread would be more popular...
