Since this morning I have been getting an error message constantly saying that the Application Maps (process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

I wasn't even running the app so I have no idea what is going on...

Anyone else seeing this today? Wondering if there was an update that recently messed things up.

Just an update, I wen into manage applications and forced a close and it seems to have fixed the problem.

It was very strange how it kept repeating the error message over and over.

I have the same problem, except I'm not sure if it started exactly on 2010-10-02.

A "force stop" in Manage Applications does not help.

Try clearing data for the app.

Clearing all data for Maps worked for me, no popups in the last few minutes :)
