    Hi there,

I'm new here, my name is Daan.
I live in the netherlands, and i am thinking about buying a G1..
But i am buying it without a simlock so i dont have; "web-and-walk" internet from tmobile...
I was wondering, will the navigation work without an internet connexxion?

    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers, Daan

    Hi Dann

it won't work really as the handset pulls in the maps as you move so you need the data connection to do this.

Some people are looking at ways of caching the maps I have seen written somewhere but currently using google maps the data connection is a must.

How about google maps buddy ? Is it possible to use its tiles in another software, that would be great.
