i updated my google maps but i can't seem to locate 'places'
Are you rooted? Did you try a reboot? I updated this morning and I see a red 'tear drop' shaped icon in the app menu. BTW I am running CELBFroyo1.5.
Bring up your applications on your home screen and it should be there. It caught my eye this morning as it looks like a red map pointer.
With the maps update I got the new Places application - the red 'tear drop' shaped icon mentioned. The old Places Directory application I had previously installed is still there too. Is it needed now?
I can't find the new stuff either. I have no "Places" icon in the app menu. I'm rooted and running White Widow.... maybe that's why I can't find it. I checked the version # of maps, and it's definitely 4.4
What exactly does "Places" do ?
I updated too and there is no "Places" application.
I'm not rooted. Perhaps a reboot is required for this to show up?
Seems like that should be noted somewhere...
You have to reboot. After reboot, Places will then show up as an icon.
Places directory is now obsolete.
Thanks all ! I was looking in the wrong place. I was trying to find a Places icon in the menu settings of Maps. Instead it's in with the other apps. I'm slow today. Thanks again....
