Just wondering whether it's only me having this problem......
I'm trying to install the latest maps update and it seems stuck on "starting download". It's gone on way beyond the time needed for the previous download/upgrade.

Cheers, Rusty, that hadn't occurred to me. I'll stop dismantling my phone and wifi to find the prob!

Fortunately, the previous version of maps remains so I'm still able to find my way to the Home for the Terminally Stupid! :p:D

Yup, open up maps, hit menu, "my location", when the blue icon pops up on the screen tap on it and then tap "share this place" and it will give you the option to share it a bunch of ways including email.

Yeah, took me 2 unsuccesful downloads and a half responsive market app to finally get the update.. What's weird is that after the first unsuccesful download, it no longer showed maps as 'installed' or 'update available'. It just sat there on top of the downloads tab listed as 'Free' :p

Oh well, still can't use navigation here in Belgium :(

    Sorted!!

It was that googlemail/gmail thing - I'd switched to gmail, then read about the problems and switched back to googlemail - well, I thought I had , but I've just done it again and now all is working as before - downloading ok at last.

Yeah.. USA residents get all the goodies. I'm still sitting tight for Google Voice, Navigation, Dutch STT, Barcode scanner for our products, something pandora-like,...

But hey, despite lacking all that I still love my N1 and android. So the only thing that's better then my N1 would be my N1 in america :p
