Google Maps have just released v6.0.2 in the Market.

Coming hot on the heels of v6.0.1, this claims even more bug fixes.

Hopefully it will cure the wakelocks that some of you have been experiencing recently.

My Google map is still on 5.80

Can I get updates in Malaysia, because when I search in the Android Market, I don't get google maps. Can it be updated manually? Not rooted.

Try this: Open Google Maps app from your phone, click on Menu and you will see Upgrade option: it will do the rest.

No dice. Don't have upgrade option.

Checked by web instead of market and its clearly states not supported in my country. Terrible. Any way to work around it and at the same time making sure it works. Don't want it to suddenly get screwed instead.

not getting the networkpassivelocator wakelock with this now. There are a couple of network location wakelocks but at very minimal percentages, like 0.2% over 8 hours

    Hawker and ironass like this.

I'm very confused: these things come late to my country: we normally see that these are not supported in my country... I thought Malaysia should have been covered too... anyways, let us hope this works well for you soon.

I can also confirm Maps 6.0.2 fixes the over-active NetworkLocationPassiveCollector wakelock
