I just updated my Galaxy SIII to Android 4.1.1 (JellyBean). I heard that Google Now is the major reason why some people experience a drain on their battery.

I have found the on and off setting for Google Now. The default toggle is on 'Off' but when I press on it, it prompts me to activate or not.

Should I just leave it like this or should I activate and turn it 'off' again?

    Thanks.

If it's off, leave it as so. Unless you turn it on, it isn't active, and you can just use the search functionality of the App. That is, if you want it on, that's a different story.

Turn it on and try it. If it appears to drain your battery more than you use it then turn it off.

Doubt it would drain your battery much. the battery program on your phone will tell you how much it is draining.
