Help Google Now/Search and Play Store

My Turbo Play Store just updated yesterday, and now Google Now/Search freezes, won't refresh, and says I don't have an internet connection when I do. If I uninstall the update, it works fine until the Play Store updates again. The Play Store version I'm having a problem with is 5.0.38, and the previous version with no problems is 4.9.13. I had this problem with my Moto X as well. The problem started with that phone about a month or two ago, and never got resolved. I spoke with Google for a possible solution and that didn't help, and I'm waiting to hear back again. Anybody else having this problem?

Google Now/Search gets slow or unresponsive, force closes, can't manually refresh. If I try, I keep getting a no internet connection error when I actually have a good connection. This happened on my previous Moto X also, and I have not downloaded any of my apps on this phone either. It's just stock right now.

Yes. I've also cleared the cache. If I uninstall the update, it's fine. When it updates on its own, the problem comes back. I also did a FDR.
