So i rooted my nexus twice and each time Google now would stop working and stop being responsive. For example when i say okay Google nothing happens, if i press the mic the white card comes up but don't respond to my voice, and when I go to the cards everything is empty. To fix this i must clear the data of Google search or turn my phone off and back on.
Right now I am not rooted and I'm not having any problems with Google now i want to root again but won't until I know how to fix this. Can someone help me?

Rooting just adds a file to the operating system - a file that's not used unless an app needs root access, which Google Now doesn't. Evidently whatever gimmick you're using to root the phone (unless you're using adb to push the su file, you're using some sort of gimmick) does something else, which is causing problems.

So if I just use a different way to root it it should work

What method are you using to root? I've had no issues with Google now and I rooted straight out of the box.

    Edit: ninja'd

There is nothing that WUG's toolkit does that would affect Google Now. Did you make any changes to your device after getting root?
