Google Play is asking to turn on background data
Google Play requires background data to be enabled. To enable background data follow the steps here: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1663315?hl=en
On Nexus 6P, Android 6.0.1
Doesn't work for me. I followed the procedure and Play Store still says "Background Data Disabled"
I'm trying to install "Amazon Alexa"
Hmm, I'm not sure what the deal is with background data but for the time being, you should be able to get the app here: http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-com-Amazon-Alexa/dp/B00P03D4D2
Thanks, appreciated. That worked and the app works.
(Though it did mean installing the Amazon app store which I had not previously done.)
For the moment, it continues to look like I can't install any app from Google Play.
Well... if no idea what the problem is, use the universal fix... re-boot.
I powered the phone down and up and... Google Play is happy again.
There were a ton of app updates queued...
Ha, wow. I almost suggested restarting but it just seemed like such a blah answer to give. Glad it's working for you again! Thanks for updating us on the situation!!
