Help Google play service sync error in China draining all my battery. Help please

In my battery usage google play service drains between 40-70% of my battery.
I downloaded a vpn and even over several days the battery consumption from google play services goes down significantly. My battery last multiple times as long.
So the problem is obviously a sync error with google which makes a lot of sense because all google services are banned in China (not even play store is accesible, googlemail or maps or anything).
I cant have a vpn running on my phone 24/7, it drains battery as well and uses up my data internet.
So I only see 2 solutions: Either completely deinstall and get rid of all google products (wouldnt hurt anyway since I cant use any in China).
Or somehow force stop google play services to not do anything at all.

I will be staying in China for several years so waiting until I return is sadly no option

If anybody knows how to solve this problem please let me know

Have you tried turning off all automatic syncing, including automatic Play Store app updates, Drive, Gmail syncing, etc. What phone have you actually got there, make, model, Android version, as it might give us some better ideas about what you can do with it, as regards possibly rooting, freezing, disabling the unnecessary Google items.

I'm in China as well and have a Googleless phone.

I have even turned off all notifications for updates in the google play store. I always have any sync off, actually google play store is the only app I ever signed in with an email adress that could even get sync in the first place. I never even opened maps or any other google apps, so there shouldnt be any syncing going on there.
I have a LG G4 phone that I bought in Germany for Christmas. The few days I was in Germany I never had any battery drain from google play servives, it only started the second I entered China. In my settings it says Android version 5.1 but since its a new phone it should be the latest.
I do not want to root my phone but anything else even deleting and disabling all google apps is fine.
Right now looking into my battery usage google play services used up 68% of my battery :(
