If I get a new Notification of a Gtalk message, when I choose that notification in the list of notifications, gtalk opens up, but the message is not there.

However, I did see the contents of the message in the notification bar at the top...

    Any ideas ?

Is it possible to update Google Talk ? I can't see it in the marketplace.

    Thanks

I am having this identical problem today.

Someone sends me a Google Talk message, and I see it in the notifications. I open Google Talk and the message isn't in our chat.

Has happened with 2 different contacts today, and at the same time, I had another google talk chat going that worked fine.

Anyone else seen this? Any ideas?

I have been having this same issue on my HTC Eris. Have anyone found a resolution, or did you give up using it?

EDIT: I found this issue on the Google Code site:
    http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2023

I'm going to disable the Google Chat feature in Gmail and see if that helps...

    Okay, so here's the trouble..
i have an unrooted incredible 2 and my gtalk is not working

gtalk is still on my phone, but i can't find the app icon for it anywhere, only when i go to manage applications->all applications can i find it, but i still can not open it!
i know it's installed because i've gotten numerous gtalk im's from people from the notification bar.. but when i pull the bar down and click the gtalk icon to go to the chat, nothing happens...

    what do i do?
