Does the leaning gray android robot next the status on freinds list in Google talk in android mean it's an android phone?

Any way to distinguish if friend is on a mobile or a desktop running Google talk or chat from gmail?

The little grey robot means that the contact does not have a picture tied to their Google account. It is the default avatar.

Not the one on the left in the box, there is another droid image on the right that only seems to appear when you are connected via an adroid phone. It's nice feature I wish gmail chat had.

    ... bump.

Still wondering about this. I noticed if the contact is on gmail via a desktop web browser the little leaning android on the right does not show up.. but if on a mobile android it does show up. Does this mean they are mobile with GTalk or does it mean they are mobile , with GTalk - AND- Android? Does anybody know if this looks any different if client is running GTalk on a Blackberry?

    Thanks.
