Sounds like an English (UK) vs English (US) problem...

English (UK) "period" means "period" and not the punctuation, "full stop" means ".". ... check you've selected the correct English in the options and settings, is it set to English (UK) and not English (US)?

At first i used english(india)... both period and full stop didnt appear as pancuations... then i used english(us) and english(uk).... majorly it speeled period instead of the panctuation... then i tried all the three one by one but all in vain...
note: google talk recognised the panctaution "." only 4 times till now... tried a lot...but...

Heck, I tried the Easter egg in Google Now 'Sudo, make me a sandwich' only to get 'pseudo make me a sandwich'

How does one deal with dictating homonyms? Such as 'deer' vs. 'dear' For example?

I also have punctuations dictated as spelled out words, I assume it's the same bug?

Problem I've often found voice recognition doesn't deal with punctuation very well at all, I might dictate "Sentences end with a full stop" but end up with "Sentences end with a.". For homonyms it has to make guesses based on the context and grammar I suppose. I dictate "This DVD about deer is too dear". There's another one "to", "too", "two" or "2", or whether I want numbers spelled as words or as numbers.

"This DVD about dear is two deer full stop", "I bought a China vase in china"

Probably, well until we start approaching the technology level of Star Trek or something. LOL

I am still waiting for a more Majel Barret voice from Google Now Vs. That crap one they keep using

Heck I'll take a Portal Sentry Turret voice over the default. Even GLaDOS

If it's the same one I've heard, stock Google voice, it's Estuary English dialect. I just hate the sound of it, and no way to change it. Google never heard of Received Pronunciation? Or if you're stateside, VOA English, or indeed something like Majel Barret type voice would be awesome. Some computer voice things, do have stuff like English(Scots), English(Welsh). ...would English(Kentucky) be an option? :D

on a Samsung, some commands on GNow use S-Voice's default instead of Google's. i do wish it could be changed. Wasn't Google Now referred to as Project Majel?

Majel Barret Roddenberry is sadly long gone, but someone does an excellent copy of her voice and it's used on Star Trek: Online.

We all know Google would respond to our requests similar to HAL 9000.

    'I'm Sorry, Dave, I'm afraid i can't do that.
