What is the matter with the LTE G-Nex and Google Voice's Voicemail system. I'm sure many of you have received the error when you are setting up the Google Voice app saying that there is a problem with your carrier.

I decided to go ahead and dial *71[my GV number] so that I could activate my GV voicemail. However, now when I get calls, my phone rings and then the call gets forwarded... not to my voicemail inbox (as it did before on my Droid Incredible) but to my GV number when in turn is set to forward calls to my cell so my cell gets to ringing a second time until FINALLY GV voicemail kicks in... why is this happening? This was not an issue with my Inc.

Can someone offer me a solution? Or do I need to revert to Vzw VM? I really don't want to.

I decoupled my cell from GV, then recoupled it using the GV web settings. My GV voicemail catches all my calls. I ignored the voicemail settings on the phone. They still say VZ but GV takes my messages. I figure it's an ICS thang.

I've been using GV without any of the issues you described. Whenever someone calls it rings on my phone and once its sent to voicemail, i get a text message letting me know i have a voice mail.

I remember receiving the same error when setting it up in my Droid X. This is not a problem related to the Gnex.

No problems here either. Worked right after installing, although I originally set it up on my Dinc.

No problems for me either. I restored the data with TB so I didn't even go through set-up again. I only have GV assigned to my cell phone number though, I didn't sign up for a separate GV number.

Maybe the dinc, too. The error was the carrier didn't support, but it made the changes anyway. Been using GV ever since, and probably just used to those messages, as it has been the VM on each of those phones for me by default, with that error message. :D:D

I'm having the same problem as the OP - missed/ignored calls get forwarded back to me instead of going to voicemail the first time. Everything had been working great since I first started using GV on my OG Droid, but last October when I flashed a new ROM on my Droid X and set up GV again, this problem starting happening and I haven't been able to correct it since, on my X or my Nexus.

Have read throughout all the Google Groups discussions, but none of the solutions work. I have since given up and just stopped having GV forward calls to my cell, since I really only go GV to use as voicemail anyways.

I dunno if your issue has been fixed but I've had issues with GoogleVoice. What I did was to deactivate my phone with GV found in GV settings then reactivate it but dialing another number. Try that and it may help.
