Does Google Voice/Sprint integration work if your running a custom ROM? Any extra hoops to jump through?

I have a Google voice account with a number and I would like to use the option one to use my sprint number instead. I mostly run CM7 or ASOP ROMs.

Custom ROMs are the best reason to use GV. you never lose your vm when you wipe your phone. No hoops, just reinstall the app (you may have to redial the # and switch it in the settings menu to change it to GV instead of the carrier app)

I have been using google voice in that way. I guess I was more wondering if anyone using custom ROMs had tried to use the new Google Voice / Sprint service where it uses your mobil phone #. Since I don't run with Sprint's VVM app, or any other Sprint apps, I was wondering if it would even work.

Guess I will just stay with My current set up for now.

I ported my Sprint number to GV. It is fine except that all texts come through both GV app and my messaging app. But I don't mind, my service sucks at my house, so at least my texts always come through at home.
