i dont think you can googlemail is the uk version of gmail. if you change any apps using login wont work,

It's my wife's phone and that is what I set her email address to *#*#*#*# at googlemail dot com. And it does work. Just that I read changing can mess up settings. For that matter, how do I change it.

i think you would need to make a new account with @gmail i dont think you can change an email address u can only delete and make a new. maybe check the androidmarket help pages?
