Goophone V5

Hi all, happy new year n all that shizzle, I really hope you can help me, I bought my son the Goophone V5 and we have just discovered it isnt using the SD to save anything. The SD card shows in storage and I can mount/unmount it. But I cant seem to find an option to use it as preferred storage?
Any ideas?
