    First Impressions...

    1. It's very light. For such a big device it feels so light in the hand.
    2. The battery life is VERY STRONG.
    3. I'm surprised how fast the battery charge just using the regular USB 2.0.
    4. It's very clean and sexy.
    5. There is ALOT of bloatware. I'd say half is useful and half isn't.

Overall, VERY HAPPY with my decision.

Congrats! The Note 2 battery was great out of the box also. I remeber some people getting ridiculous amount of life on their note 2's. I managed to get around 24 hours initially.

But, as all batteries, that will go down over time. Great thing is, after 11 months on the Note 2, I still get around 18 hours with heavy use.

As long as you use a 2.1amp charger it should be fast.

Picked up mine too. Initial view on seeing the n3...underwhelmed!

Next to my N3 it looks like a large s2. The design is nice though and has grown on me.

    Speed? Rocket ship.

New version of Kies - V3. Says its not compatible with updates! Wanted to back up memory card before moving the new content to a bigger card i have....can't.

Overall...nice. Screen....excellent Gets hot like the N2. Is it a worthy upgrade over the N2...let me come back to you later on this....

    Congratulations!

One of the best accessory purchases I've made this year is an Anker Astro 3 , external battery. Having three USB out ports it charges my iPad, iPhone & SGS 4 all at the same time. At less than an inch thick, with a very innovative pulsing circular LED charge indicator it's exceptional.

Just picked mine up after Samsung sent it to the wrong address!!! They also never sent my Galaxy Gear grrr
Phone is better than N2 much faster, better screen. The back cover actually feels like leather.
Haven't had much time to play with it but can't get announcify to work on yet
    So far I'm quite happy

So, for those of you that get great results from your N2 in regards to battery life, what do you consider heavy usage?
I am switching from the iPhone 5 to the N3 when it comes out here in the US with Verizon and my past experience with droids (last was the Samsung G S III) was that the battery life was awful.
Also, what is the deal with killing apps so they are not running in the background and using battery life? I have heard App killers are bad, then I have also heard they are good. Are they needed anymore? :)

Anybody fathomed out how to remove carrier name from the lock screen yet as it's driving me mad trying to find out how to get rid of it

Never used app killers. Battery will take a few days to get good charge out of them. They only come part charged. Spending the first couple of days installing stuff and setting them up not best time to state battery
Life. Check back in a week.....

Are the gears being posted now? I thought they were being released a month later...?

My travel / work days are 16 hrs by the time I get back to the hotel. I use my Galaxy S4 constantly all day long. On the web, using quick office, nearly 100 emails & downloading large work files. I've been tracking battery run times closely, at the end of my most intense days of usage I have 30% to 34% remaining at 11 PM. That's far better than I could squeeze out of my iPhone 5 by at least 3 or 4 hours.

Quick question for those who have the 3...
Does the protruding camera area stop the 3 from lying flush on a flat surface?

That would really bother me if it isn't stable.

Heavy usage, for me, is having work emails with constant push (meaning, instant receive and send), Gmail emails with instant push, Other email addresses syncing every 4 hours, consistent text messages throughout the day, constantly taking on and off standby to check on things, browsing whenever time permits, a few phone calls, checking/reading android news, sports news, news feeds every 1.5 hours.

I'm sure there are other things I'm leaving out, but I use my Note 2 way more than any other smartphone I've ever used in my life.

Just say no to app killers. You shouldn't need them, but I would recommend a good cache cleaner to use once a month. For me personally, I use DS Battery saver at night, so that the phone goes into deep sleep. I also enable Blocking Mode, prior to going to sleep.

The hardest part to compare is the fact that the phone has to power up 5.55 inches of screen (and 5.69 on the Note 3). Since the iPhone has to power up a much smaller screen, it's hard to say how much "better" or "worse" the battery life will be for you. I'd recommend reading some of the threads that are in the Note 2 forums, for people who moved over from the iPhone to the Note 2. That would likely give you a better idea.

So, is that your way of saying it doesn't sit flat?

Does it have black crush? It's very annoying when watching movies.
When I brought S4 I returned it because of that (my S3 didn't have it).

Quick update. The battery has 49% remaining. Note 2 had around 30 by this stage of the day (6pm).
