Now what are the first things I should do, fully charge the battery, and then run it down?
1. Play with it till it goes dead
2. charge it
3. play with it till it goes dead
4. charge it
just keep doing this for a few weeks it should keep you busy
What about the Droid X?
I'm sure this person has been doing that for many weeks/months/years prior to the X arriving.
Make sure you don't update to 2.2 until you wait a few months. You'll need to pay your dues.
That's just plain mean
Got my X as well. Where did the Direct Dial and Direct Message options go in the Homescreen shortcuts?
Be glad you don't have to wait long for froyo.
Im getting my X tomorrow, cant wait. I have the droid1 with froyo and will be very happy getting the X with it.
congrats guys just have fun. and now froyo will be here tomorrow as well so whhoooooohooooooooooo
I found a way to get a Direct Dial shortcut using the free app Folder Organizer Lite. Long press the homescreen (or setup in Launcher Pro Dock) and select Shortcut, Folder Organizer Item, Direct Call, choose from your contact list.
For the Direct Text using Folder Organizer Lite again. Long press the homescreen (or setup in Launcher Pro Dock) and select Shortcut, Folder Organizer Item, Direct Text, choose from your contact list.
I dont know anything about rooting, can I root my phone after 2.2 Froyo update?
Yes you can, but you need to install and use the Android SDK and use ADB:

Hmm, no easy root options under 2.2 yet? I don't trust myself to do it any other way.
Would it be easier to root using easy root or similar program before updating?
