I wanted to be able to stream media from my computer to my phone, mainly to be able to listen to mp3's without having to load 'em on the phone.

I run removable hard drives and use Ubuntu Linux 10.04 for 99% of my computer stuff, with a Windows drive for occasional audio and video work. I installed Qloud free on my HTC Desire HD and it was working fine with the windows drive but I couldn't work out how to use the Linux box as a streaming server; I finally realised I was making it too complicated for myself.

Had a "why didn't I think of this before" moment, downloaded the Qloud server software for PC and installed it under Wine. It found my wifi network and configured itself no problems and now I'm happily streaming media to my Desire HD from my Ubuntu Linux...
