GPRS connectivity problem on Samsung Galaxy R

Hello Everybody,

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy R. For the first 2 days the GPRS/EDGE connectivity was working perfectly. All pages, maps, market worked perfectly. Then I installed a few apps. Since then I can only see the E(Edge) icon with the 2 arrows on the top bar. Most of the times there is no connectivity. Very rarely I am able to browse to a page or so but that too is very slow. The arrows under the E icon keep blinking though. Out of frustration I reset the the phone to its factory settings.....and yet the problem persists. I popped out the sim card and put it in another phone....everything works perfectly...with proper GPRS connectivity!!! I put it back in my Galaxy R....the issue persists! I keep getting messages like Connection failed or There is no connection or You dont have a reliable data connection.

Please help! This is really annoying me. I cant even surf the web.:(

Im from India. My carrier is Tata Docomo. Just to let you know in case the issue has anything to do with this.

Did you forget to mention that you dropped your phone? It sounds like the Radio is damaged. I would advise you to take it to the carrier and ask for assistance/advice and get an opinion as to if the radio is broken.

Hi bro.
Even i bought a 9103 two days back.. Same problem was sith this handset... Actually handset is fine... U need to understand the setting.

Go to settings
Wirelss and network
Mobile network
Manually search and select the network.
Its the problem of ur network not the problem with your phone.

Whenever you move to another network cell the cell phone seacrhes for handshake and when it found the weak signal of ur home network it shifts to another carrier which continues as registered network this way it causes zero data connectivity.

And the arrows which is blinking is meant for data sending and recieving. Its the good sign that its blinking.. If u are using 3g network it will blink less.
