Help GPS tracker apps lose gps signal after 3 min

hi all! not sure if anyone has experienced this. i tried a number of tracker apps for sports like endomondo, sportstracker, my tracks, and none of them seem to get past 3 mins in sleep mode, when the gps signal goes dead. i can't find any settings to alter neither on the phone OS or on my app killer (taskmanager 2.1.2).

Anyone has got a clue where to look? cause 3 mins ain't much of a work out!

Have you tried and app that has permissions for a WAKE_LOCK?

Thanks. all three main apps do claim access to system tools to prevent phone from sleeping. is that the same thing?

I use buddyrunner and no problems so far.
