Help Green Status Bar

I had some weird never-seen-before behaviour on my SII yesterday.
The entire top thin status bar area turned green???!!! That is the small bar on the top of the screen that contains the icons for battery status, wifi, clock etc. The rest of the screen appeared normal, and the colour of the bar reverted back to the usual black after a while. I played around with the phone to see what was going on, but nothing I did seemed to change it - it went back to its usual self on its own.
Hmmm.
Is this some process going on I should know about, a bug or a hardware fault?
Any help most appreciated.

That happens when you are on a call and hit the home button without exiting the call. Perhaps you were in phone mode and didn't know it?

Had you made/answered a call? As if you are in a call and go to homescreen etc the status bar turns a colour.
