Gretel Latest Updates: S55 Smartphone Leaked!

Amazon Prime Day 2017 has arrived. While Amazon opens the floodgates to unleash a wave of deals all over the world, Gretel’s flagship device seems to pop up upon the world.

Since jumping into the public market from this March, Gretel has already launched the A-series smartphones: A9, A7, A6 and GT6000, which is varied in terms of specifications and prices targeting of different users. A fantastic deal on budget smartphone that can really compete with the big boys, that’s the reason why Gretel become one of the users’ favorite budget smartphones this year. Now it appears like the S55 will be added to the Gretel’s family.

The Gretel S55 smartphone is rumored to offer the popular 4 colors: blue, red, black and gold. It will pack a 5.5 inch display with 2.5D curved glass along with a back 360° touch fingerprint reader, running on an Android Nougat 7 system out of the box.


From the leaked photo, the S55 will be encased by a slim body. And it’s clear that the rear of the S55 phablet has two camera lenses alongside the flash. Dual camera systems on smartphones are not new now, but Gretel says that the S55 will use the advanced dual-camera technology. The wide-angle lens is primed to capture everyday scenes, the other lens for a high-quality closeups, and the combination enables the photos look like they were shot with DSLR cameras!

A week ago, leaks revealed some features of the brand new Gretel S55 smartphone. Now, Gretel just released some photos of what the S55 looks like and main specs for it.
And it’s clear that the design influence here is the iPhone 7. From the red color, to the curved sides and super smooth back, the results of our first look at the Gretel S55 is beauty and elegance. It’s encased by a slim body with 4 color options in Red, Blue, Black and Gold.


The placement of the fingerprint sensor of Gretel S55 has been just below the dual camera sensors on the rear of the phone. The two cameras pair an 8MP GC8024 sensor + 0.3MP GC0310 sensor, one with wide angle to capture wide photos, the other for a high-quality closeups and Blur effect.

Gretel S55 packs a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass and a 1280x720 resolution, running on an Android Nougat 7 system out of the box and powered by a 2600mAh removable battery. It comes with the MT6580A processor, 1GB or RAM and 16GB of storage, supports at least 32GB extended storage via a T-Flash card. In addition, the S55 is a dual SIM smartphone that accepts Micro-SIM and Micro-SIM. The 2G GSM frequency is 850/900/1800/1900MHz, the 3G WCDMA frequency is 900/2100MHz.

first 3G budget smartphone from Gretel company to feature dual cameras and fingerprint TouchID on the back. The S55 is having a 5.5 inch display and double lens, maybe that’s where the “S55” comes into play here. So how is the final design and appearance? Let’s find out from the first video:

This video is officially from Gretel, displaying the S55 from just about every angle and showing off the trendy red and black colors, looks stylish and slim. On the front, we have a 2.0MP selfie camera and 5.5 inch screen with a 720x1280 pixel resolution, 2.5D curved. On the top of the screen, spots a 3.5mm stereo earphone jack, and a MicroUSB data port.

The battery that keeps all of going is a 2,600mAH battery. Gretel promises include 6 hours of video playback and 35 hours of “normal use”, and it’s removable.

With the Gretel S55 smartphone now available to be shipped out from July 31, here we get the Gretel’ rollout of the first hands-on video:

Until now everything about Gretel’s new model S55 smartphone has released out. The video shows the many selling points, as a budget 3G phone, really a big surprise. And we’ve just had our best look at it.

Gretel S55 equipped with MT6580A 1.3GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, fast enough and stable for multitasking experience and general everyday use. As the video shown, the 2D gaming is comfortable, web browsing and email checking is smooth. for general everyday use, the RAM capacity is enough.


There are some smart control options and Wake-up features given in the S55 device. The gestures on the turned-off screen quite helpful. Here’s what all the gesture controls in the Gretel S55 smartphone.
