Help GTalk deleted all of my contacts

I was multi tasking and when I went to Gtalk I noticed all of my Gtalk contacts had been deleted and all of my chat messages as well...turned phone off and tried again, contacts were still missing...I asked a few friends to try to add me back, but it said we were still friends, but when they try to message me it says I'm unavailable....but on my phone it says I am available....any idea why it delted my contacts and how do I fix the problem.??? I was using GTalk frequently and would like to continue doing so... any solutions???
