I watched a vid of some dude fixing the charge port on a android...
Looked like all he did was heat up the old one to release the solder..
    Wiped it a little.
Then just flowed the solder on the contacts of the new one..
The charge/data port on my zmax is sour..was doing research

Factory reset will only take you back to stock with the firmware version currently installed on your device.

In your scenario you would lose all personal data and settings but still be left with the 'updated' firmware version.

You could downgrade the firmware if a KDZ file is available for your device /carrier.

When i do fastboot flash recovery recovery.img it says cannot recover image

Then flash it using flashify after you reboot. Do a factory reset then a nandroid and save it off your phone to have a fresh recovery.

Ok everything up to "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" worked but it wouldnt flash it kept failing. So I tried "fasboot boot recover.img" that got me into TWRP. From there trying to install SU.zp just kept rebooting my LG into TWRP. So what I ended up doing is sideloading adb and typing in adb sideload SU.zip. Then it flashed SU.zip to my phone. I rebooted and TWRP asked if I wanted to install SU it is very important that you say no. Saying yes will brick soft brick your phone. After saying no it rebooted twice wand when finally loaded I checked with rootchecker and it was rooted. then I used Flashify to flash TWRP. Backedup and rebooted to my NEW ROOTED 6.0 YAY!!!!

I am not able to get past step 7, see screenshot. I have MS631 on marshmallow, the bootloader is unlocked. In some other forums, I found that root is necessary to get twrp recovery but I have not found a way to get root on this device, kingroot doesn't have support for this yet. Any suggestions?

I'm new to Root industry and trying to root my phone,

    LG G Stylo (MS631 - Metro PCS).

    Android 6.0
    Security Level 3-1-2017
    S/W : MS63120p

Is it still possible to root my phone using above method?
I'd like to make sure that S/W version MS63120p still works for this method.

Also is there anyway to remove a line of text saying the bootloader is unlocked on the splash screen when you boot your device?
Many people told this line a text lasts 5 seconds whenever booting and is somewhat annoying.

    One last thing,
    From your latest instruction,
    18) Using Flashify backup your stock recovery image and then flash the TWRP image from your SD card. Do this step even if you have TWRP already installed. I have experienced full phone reset when this step is skipped.

    19) You should now be fully rooted with stock recovery.

Finally, rooted with stock recovery OR TWRP recovery?
You said flash the TWRP image but in 19) rooted with stock recovery

    Thank you in advance.
