Here are the final steps I took to root a Streamachine ST13 with Android 4.4.4. This is mostly copied from http://androidforums.com/threads/guide-root-rooting-lg-leon-with-supersu.946345/ A big thanks to TerryG4 for the Android Forums post that finally worked and @Chainfire for SuperSU. I'm happy the KingRoot application exists, but it doesn't tell you which exploit it uses, and it installs all of their bloatware which this and many posts are focused on removing. From the play store: Install Root Browser by JRummy Apps Inc Install Root Checker Basic by joeykrim Enable developer mode: Settings -> About Tablet: Touch Build Number 7 timesEnable USB debugging Settings -> Developer Options: Enable USB debuggingEnable non-play store apk's: Settings -> Security: Enable Unknown Sources Files (I found various un-labled versions of files, some worked and some didn't): SuperSU v2.49: package: name='eu.chainfire.supersu' versionCode='249' versionName='2.49' platformBuildVersionName='5.0.1-1624448' (this version worked, others did not) KingRoot v4.5.0: package: name='com.kingroot.kinguser' versionCode='120' versionName='4.5.0' platformBuildVersionName='4.1.2-1425332' (v4.0 failed to root the tablet, newer versions, 4.9.2, I didn't try again to see if the process would remove them but do root the tablet) Busybox: Size 1,727,948 bytes. Let SuperSU update itself, normal, and reboot. Root check with Root Checker, telling SuperSU to allow Root Checker. Run SuperSU, let it update itself, normal, and reboot. Remove Purify. Congratulations, you now have a rooted Streamachine ST13, and the root persists through reboots. A couple of notes: iRoot 3.0.0 failed. TowelRoot failed. KingOroot 3.1 did root the tablet, but I could not get it removed and SuperSU installed. Super-Sume v6.7 did not work.
