Welcome to AF Jeezus
So to settings-about phone and you will see it as the pic shows
Ah So it's basically the baseband. Huh. I'm not used to the Esteem yet.
Well that to but it has a part that says "SW VERSION" it says "MS910 ZVD"
Thanks for that info! Finally updated it to ZVD from ZVB, which I actually had no problems at all so I'm looking forward to it. You've probably been asked this many times, but what am I looking forward to in ZVD in improvements or in general? Thanks again
Better battery life cause Lg incorporated 90% of Kanadias Homeless Kernel into ZVD. Will be smoother. More roms and themes. That abut sums it up
I wasn't going to update from ZVB to ZVD, but I was too tempted. Everything is working great so far. Thanks for these clear instructions. My phone was lagging a little on ZVB, but most likely it was because of how many apps I had (60+), So I was going to just start fresh, and decided to give ZVD a try. Everything all smooth and fast now.
Yeah so far it's running great. Actually noticed an improvement in battery life by an extra two hours. Seems to be responding smoothly in tasks. Just hated the LG stock home so I'm using 360 launcher but even I'm having doubts about that. Otherwise, update is a slight increase overall
Yeah I can't seem to break my 360 habit either :thumbup:
Oh yeah, and it finally got rid of the "hello hello hello.." boot up sound :thumb:
hey i have zvc and i got to the Phone update part but it keeps saying Problem with communication between phone and PC says disconnect the cable remove battery and restart and i done did this like 5 times and it still doesnt work help please?
ok lemme tell u what i meant lol
after it recognized the phone it would to like 17% then tell me to take out the battery etc,
You had said you got the USB issue solved
With the update tool it should say what version you currently have and if you need an update of version. Your cord still isn't working is my guess-can you try an alternative cord?
my bad man it did say all that and i downloaded the updates and installed them
when i thought i fixed it i changed something in devices and then windows recognized everything then i restarted and when i plugged my phone in it recognized it as UDC-AHB Subsystem so i retryed everything from the start
Know i know what i did shoulda of stopped guessing at AnyCut Modes when i couldnt turn my 4g back on so i extended my data plan lol
this post from another thread saved the day lol everyone on here is great and smart as hell!

Anybody have any info about upgrading in linux? Im running mint 13 and the lg website only has the updater tool for windows and mac, so im thinking about using wine. Will this work?
Welcome to AF matthagan15
Have seen anything to upgrade via linux-borrow someone's window machine for 40-45 minutes or dual boot maybe
yeah that's what im doing now, using a windows laptop to upgrade (and root) to zvd lol
gbiggie i was on zvc and using your posted easy to follow steps was able to update to zvd i was having rebooting issues as i heard its common on some lg esteem phones was hoping this update would help deal with the problem other wise i would have to send to lg thanks alot if you got any more info or know some i could do about the rebooting problem i would appreciate the help hope it goes away with this update tho....
Glad it you were able to get it done:thumbup:
It should solve the rebooting issue for you.
Welcome Android Forums diddylaflare
I'm pretty late to this but anybody know why the LG support keeps saying my phone is not connected?
Make sure oh got the drivers installed and that your phone is in internet mode
Thanks. Silly me forgot about that...my computer was always alerting me but I always ignored it. Did that and now it worked.
Is it a must to factory reset? Also...am I the only one who got Google+ and some other junk added after this?
Welcome to Android Forums Quackers
It is up to you if you want to factory reset(but a clean start on the new version is a good way to go) just make sure you have backed up text, call logs, pics, ect. that you want to keep.
Yeah all the added Google stuff is normal-if you choose to root most of it can be deleted-most of it is anyway on a few of the custom ROMs
Keep getting an error message
an internal error occured in microsoft internet extensions
What can this be?
Also if I open the lg mobile support tool and click usb driver download and go to metro pcs then my device. it stops at the very end and doesnt do anything further.
Tried to uninstall and it wont let me..seems like it is installing not uninstalling
Looks like the computer you're using may have some registry issues. Give this a try http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/registry-cleaner/
I use this products as well as some of the other free ones they have.
As for the drivers-there is a direct link to them in the OP. Prior to using them I suggest you delete the other downloads for LG in add/remove programs first then start anew.
