If the arrows are solid white then yes your HSDPA connection is in use. Do you have "enable always-on mobile data" checked in settings? If you do thats probably why its always on!

serenity is half right, enabling always on mobile data doesn't mean that the arrows will be filled with white all the time. That signifies that some app is actually using the data connection actively, none-filled in arrows just means there is a signal there if any apps wishes to use it.

Had a wee look at your guide.. thanks for that! Quick question what does the always on option do.. ie if i have it off my apps can still poll the connection automatically just as they do when on whats the difference??... ok probably a very NOOB question... sorry not used to being so "new" at technology (a now ex windows mobile user of many years.. had the very first PDA devices on CE! )
