Anybody know what the best setting in Handbrake are to maximize the Xoom's awesome screen? Would be good to get a profile for it created.

I use freemake. I used to be a handbrake fan, but freemake is much more user friendly. It has presets for Android, but they're geared towards being 480p or less. So I made a custom preset for android with resolution being "Same as source" and the codec being Hx264 instead of MPEG-4. Doing this makes your videos compatible with almost any HD capable android device with minimal loss of quality.

So long as all of my videos are 720p or less, using the above method with freemake makes all of my videos compatible with my EVO and they look great, even when attached to an HDTV at 720p via the HDMI port. This method might also work with videos that are 1080p, but that would require some trial and error. One of the advantages of freemake is that it is CUDA enabled. So if you're running a Geforce 8 series card or higher, the computer will offload the encoding work to the GPU to get it done faster.

I have been able to get smooth playback using handbrake and the settings mentioned in the link above.

It is a shame the the Xoom is so particular about video. My friends iPad 2 plays the same videos like butter that the Xoom fails on miserably. Now all we need is a preset for Xoom Video and then get the entire world to encode videos that way so they can play back respectibly on the Xoom  I had hoped to hang on to it but the unknown (video playback fix) is to great for a $600 device.
