Handcent question

I have a friend with a moto droid using handcent and he is able to speak a voice quick reply into handcent and it types it out...(handy while driving). I installed handcent on my eris today and do not have the microphone icon available on the quick reply screen. Any ideas how I can get it to work? Is this available on the eris?

Just hit the menu button.

Strange. Mine has a mic icon on the quick reply screen and the voice to text functions works fine.

Go to settings <pop up.......change pop up to the full version.
