    So I'm trying to change my "Account Picture" in Handcent so that I'm not a silhouette with a question mark above my face in the chat threads. Unfortunately, when I go to change my Account Picture, it does nothing. Instead, it changes my X's home screen background to whatever picture I had selected for my Account Picture. O-o;

    Anybody else running into this?

    Anybody? Or can anybody recreate this error?

    Yes, I just tried it and you are correct. It does the same thing for me. Not really sure why.

    I'm having problems changing alot of things. I can't even open the bubble settings menu. I guess handcent is working fine for some people and not others as i made a thread yesterday about the problems. I emailed handcent so hopefully they can update their app soon to fix the issues.

    Try uninstalling handcent then reinstalling it. See if that helps at all.

    I'm having the same issue with Handcent. I used it on my Moto Droid and never had any issues. Now I have the X and no matter what I try to change it doesn't change anything but my wallpaper on my phone. I hope they can fix this soon cuz I really dislike the default messaging app.

    I'm new to Handcent and the android platform. I noticed that when I receive a text message while the phone is locked, it will unlock my phone. Is that a normal thing for Handcent? Is it possible to disable that? I couldn't find any setting for it.

    Yes thats normal. Go to menu>settings>notification settings>popup settings to change stuff around if you want.

    I'm having the same trouble. I tried to change both the bubble settings background and the conversation list background with some pics that i brought over from an old blackberry tour and also with pics i took with the DX(via Astro and picture gallery). It changed my home screen wall paper. It never asked if i wanted to save the changes. Any ideas?

    **i tried rebooting the phone, saw that someone else was unsuccessful uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent, so i didnt try that

    i was having the same problem as all of you until i installed ver3.0.2. off of my incredible. everything works in the older versions except when trying to make the background of handcent a picture instead of just a color. it switched the main home screens background also. but everything works perfectly fine and smoothly. if you want the older version apk file that i have, just pm me your email and i'll send it to you.

    I have the same issue. It wouldn't display the contact pictures so I deleted handcent and re-installed it and now it works fine. I still have the self profile picture issue though. I think the problem lies within Handcent itself.

    Also, even though I disabled the notifications in the native sms app it still pops up even when the screen is off. Is there any other way to disable this???

    Just got an update from a buddy that handcent had updated and now supports the X. Go to either your downloads, and update your version of handcent, and it will work. Confimed it myself.
