    Hi,
I'm planning on buying the Flytouch 3,
But the real thing I need it for is writing.
I can't find anywhere if this pad supports writing with a pen on it.
and if there's a program I can do it on.
I'm a student and looking to change all my notebooks into a digital form.

I guess you guys would probably know!

    Hi,

Sorry if this is not the answer you want to hear but I would be tempted not to do it.

Handwriting recognition has always been one of those "people easy / computer hard" tasks and even if you do get a good algorithm it invariably takes longer - and is more difficult - than writing on paper and is nowhere near as flexible:

Running out of paper? ... Write Smaller!
Running out of memory? ... Fail your class!

Also, you tend to spend so much time correcting yourself or thinking about how you're writing you don't concentrate on what you're gearing / writing.

Oh I didn't mean handwriting recognition.
    Just writing.
does the pen work on the tablet
and is there some program that I can write in (without recognition),
that what I'm writing just stays as it is, my handwriting.
And I could save it into PDF files.

I have a friend that does it on his Macbook all the time with Wacom bamboo.

At the most basic level, virtually any 'paint' or drawing application should suffice.

But, given your amended requirements, I would still advise sticking to the traditional method of note taking [pen and paper] but scanning the pages when you get home into a library of pdf files you could carry around on the trusty tablet.

One thing to bear in mind, a Wacon [or similar] tablet has a much, much higher resolution than your touch pad so is capable of capturing far more detail. Also, the Wacon only responds to its stylux while your tablet will register when your finger touches the screen...

There are handwriting apps for the tablet.....but

Another vote for the "Don't do it" camp....for two reasons -

1/there is not enough space on the screen to write more than a few characters as the line resolution is quite big.

2/ you cannot rest anything on the screen and still have it recognise your finger/stylus

If you *must* use the tab, use it as a base for your sheet of paper. :D

So what you're saying is that if my main purpose for this is writing
Than it won't be comfortable at all.

If so, I think I'll just save that money for now.

My damn bag is super heavy with the laptop and all the notebooks.
I hoped to get rid of all that crap.

Thanks for the heads up :)

I study a lot of mathematics and stuff like that.
And It's impossible to write all this with a key board and FAST.
    That's why I don't use my laptop.

So I guessed if I get a tablet that I can write on, it'll make my life easier.
But can't afford ipad or any of those expensive tablets. :/

You could use a portable scanner like this one, I used to sell them on ebay, and they where quite popular. The scanned image gets stored onto a micro sd card, which you then just pop into the pad, and read your notes.

I had thought putting a form onto the pad with a place for a signature but otherwise I'd recommend against using for note taking other than using a keyboard.
