I just bought my wife one of these off of Ebay. She has a Droid charge but it is having problems with charging (haha). Will she like this one enough to hold her over until her upgrade comes in march? Thanks!

It's a decent phone.I'm happy with it.I just had to get an upgrade to keep my unlimited data and was short on money.I had the Droid X before.

This was advertised to me as a smart phone for first time smart phone users. It is my first smart phone, but I am not fully satisfied with it. My wife, on the other hand, loves (loved prior to recent update) the phone! When they updated to 4.0, we had some issues with apps, dropped signal and the battery life of roughly 30 minutes. These issues have been somehow corrected in the past month or so, so I think it's safe to update. I think your wife should be more than satisfied for the few months remaining!

Got the lucid today, and after fdr, update to 4.0.4 and some tinkering, I'm impressed. My wife loves it. I have a RAZR m which leaves it in the dust but for $50 it'll work for a while.

I replaced my RAZR maxx with this and it is not too bad. Battery sucks but it was expected, the ui is not as smooth as the moto but the size is perfect. Personally I am not into the big phone fad and it is hard to find a decent normal sized phone. I will probably get the RAZR m once I get bored with this or need to go out of the country.

RAZR m is what i have, it's awesome and the new ui is actually useful instead of being crammed down your throat...but my wife loves the lucid so.....I'm happy

I replaced a Motorola Droid 2 with one of these two days ago. I thought I'd really miss having a slideout keyboard but it ended up not making much of a difference to me. It doesn't "wow" me nor do any features really annoy me, though one feature each sticks out on each end. The positive one for me is that the display is absolutely beautiful. Just about anything I've tried to do on it so far looks amazing. The negative one is the same as what everyone else probably thinks, that is to say, the battery. I watched a 20-minute video yesterday with the screen brightness on 30% and the phone plugged in. When the video was over, the battery had actually lost 4% of its charge.

Get the extended battery, my kids can watch 2 hour and a half to 2 hour movies (disney) and still have plenty of power to finish the day...

I just got my first smartphone, a Lucid, and I absolutely LOVE it! I know it's a "beginner" smartphone, but it is just incredible to me. I can't wait till the day comes that I'm really competent with it and get to look at more advanced phones :).
Can I ask why you refer to getting a different phone for when you need to go out of the country? I ask because I'm planning to move to England this summer and the Verizon salesman I got my phone from assured me that this phone would work fine in the UK. Is that incorrect?

The salesman is full of it, the network it is tied to, CDMA, is not available outside the US.

Wow, that is really disappointing! I have to admit it doesn't shock me that the salesman either lied or didn't actually know and just told me what I wanted to hear. He has never returned my calls when I needed help with the phone and did a less than enthusiastic job of selling me the phone in the first place.
Are there any android phones (with Verizon service) that would work in the UK?

You can check the list of VZW Global Phones Global Services - Verizon Wireless for an appropriate device.
