Seems to me you can't remove the haptic feedback on the phone dialer.

I would hate to see that this is true, this is the best phone dialer I've had on an android device.

I was wondering the same thing. How do you remove the loud key tone when your entering a number to call?

I think someone said it was built into 2.1 and cannot be changed...

That's only to turn it off for the keyboard. That has no affect on the dial pad.

That worked for me. It's a different option than "Audio selection"

  9. Nope, that will turn off the dial tone for the keypad.

This does remove the tone...but there is slight vibration feedback still, which is impossible to turn off....unless it gets rooted and we can load CM rom ;)

  11. Yeah, haptic feedback doesnt look like it can be taken off, however the dial tone can be.

Sorry to hijack, but what about turning off haptic feedback for texting/text input? While I like it, I find I type faster without it (on other touchscreen devices).

Turning off haptic feedback also turns off the vibration while dialing, no r00t needed.

Same problem here. I have both of these turned off and the dialer still has the haptic feedback.

    Unchecked: settings>language keyboard>touch input>text input>vibrate when typing
Unchecked: settings>sound and display>Audible touch tones

    Any suggestions?

The haptic feedback in the dialer is so that you don't accidentally pocket dial someone. The feedback should let you know that you're actually pressing buttons. It's a security feature. Not a hindrance.

I am just not a big fan of the haptic feedback. If that is the case, then why would they let me turn all the other haptic feedback off and not the dialer. I don't pocket dial people, so I don't need it. I have read that this is an issue on other HTC models as well.

I've been looking for this since I got the phone 2 weeks ago. Thanks!!! I'm guessing that the vibrate during texting/IMing has been a real battery drain for me

I may be misunderstanding this thread, but isn't the answer:

    Settings>Sounds&Display>Haptic Feedback (uncheck this)?

Correction - this doesn't actually help on the dialer. Sorry. My quest to successfully answer my first question continues......

Yes, it is a big deal. I absolutely can't stand the haptic feedback. i just bought the phone, and now I have to return it for this one reason.
