Help Haptic Vibrate for keyboard - Android 2.2 Froyo

Haptic Vibrate for keyboard
How do I get the keyboard to vibrate while I'm using it in Portrait view? Won't work when I'm texting.
The "Haptic feedback" option is selected, but I don't get a vibration when I'm typing.

Phone: Samsung Epic 4G
OS: Android 2.2 Froyo

Try un-checking and re-checking the Haptic Vibrate box, then make sure the Vibration Intensity is turned up.
If it still doesn't work then try taking the battery out and re-inserting it.

Vibrate intensity is all the way up.
Took the battery out for 15 mintues.
Still have no vibration when I use the keyboard when typing a text message.
