I hae already read the other threads about the two but I have a bit different questions.
After looking into the three best Android phones there are (Xperia X10, Desire, I9000 Galaxy) I understand that the best two are the Desire and I9000.
My main issues with the Galaxy are:
1. No flash for the camera (But why?!).
2. Lower amount of RAM.

My main issues with the Desire are:
1. Smaller and maybe lower quality screen.
2. No Divx support.
3. Weighs a bit more.
4. Less onboard memory.

Please help me make the right desition. This is my first Android phone.
Thank you!

I have a Desire and X10, definitely the Desire is the better of those two handsets. I'll have a Galaxy S very soon after release (already pre-ordered), so can give you a comparison between all three within the next couple of weeks all going well. Hope that helps.

The Galaxy S build quality is definitely going to be disappointing, like the Samsung GT-B7610. Very nicely featured with great apps, but the build quality, god why can't they just stick some metal into their stupid phones? :(

phone updates would also be something to look at. I have not really heard of Samsung updating their phones... and HTC has kind of burned the bridge with Hero owners by holding off updates.

All this which phone is the best is pointless there is no perfect phone and people will always disagree, And it all depends on what you want the phone to do and what you use it for etc.

At the end of the day out of the 3 phones you mentioned: (there are other differences of course but thats too put it simply)

Sony Ericsson X10: Best Android Cameraphone.

Samsung Galaxy S: Best Screen.

HTC Desire: Best for updates.

I have the X10 and its a great phone although i must admit the Samsung is tempting but like i said it will depend on your personal wants and needs.

id say go with the desire, the weight you are complaining about is a good thing, its a solid phone.

the x10 is nice but im not a fan of the build quality

samsung is ok but i hate the look and build of samsung s personally

How far better is samsung's screen better than the HTC's?

well u can actually see it in sunlight! lol

if you watch the high res videos the screen is just awesome! even more so when watching HD video on it.

the cortex cpu is faster also and it has 512mb ram confirmed!

oh dont forget the front facing camera ;)
