Or is it just me? This is going on like 2 months now with these slow speeds. You don't think maybe verizon is secretly throttling? I have unlimited. Ive even tried getting a new sim card. The upload speed is the biggest problem. During the day upload speeds are like 1x speeds!

I have heard NYC has some of the crappiest reception around. I know listening to howard stern he talks about this from time to time. I have been in Baltimore MD, Charlotte NC, and columbia SC and my speeds has been like 25 to almost 35. I know my mother went to NYC last years and complained about cell service being crappy. I guess you have to pay a price for tall buildings.

When I first got 4G I remember 25-35 Mbps now several months later I get about 10-12 Mbps but the other day I saw 3-4 Mbps. I say as more and more 4G devices are released you're going to see the speeds get lower and lower until Verizon starts investing more resources into 4G. Right now it's probably not a big concern for them since you have to realize that some of their competitors aren't even using LTE for their "4G".

It has slowed for me, but still averages about 12 mbs. I get 7+ consistently, sometimes up to 25 mbs. I used to get 25 mbs up, minimum. In Atlanta.

It was bound to slow down as more and more devices are sharing the same towers.

VZW did say to expect something like 10-12mb if I remember correctly. I think we got spoiled when we were the only ones using the network for a while.

Pretty sure I was spoiled having my 35 down for a while. Oh well, 4G is still blazing fast, no matter how you look at it.

I use to get 20+ a few months back but now its right around 10. Still fast but just disappointed after having blazing fast speeds.

It's not the down speeed im concerned about. The upload speeds are always 1x speeds which causes everything to be slow regardless of download speed. I just tried speakeasy speedtest and got 7mbs down 0.07 up!

Know what I'm starting to think whatever tower my phone receives signal from at home is either broken or congested majorly cause I'm in a different area now and now look at my speeds:

Are you guys seriously complaining that you *only* get 10Mbps on your cell phone...unless youre tethered you cant even tell the difference except for that dumb speedtest.net app.

Used to get a solid 20 Mbps DL and 60 ms ping until earlier this month. Now I get these stats only during off-peak hours. Between 7-11pm, it's around 5-8 Mbps DL and 200+ ms pings. Upload speeds have been unaffected.

The DL speed isn't a huge issue, but the significant increase in ping time is very noticeable when using apps such as the Market and FB, and also when browsing.

no one is listening to me ITS NOT THE DOWNLOAD SPEEDS ITS THE UPLOAD SPEEDS! christ i said it three times! it most certainly is noticeable! it feels like im on 1x the majority of the time because the upload speeds are 1x speed! just look at the speed test results! now being that i only seem to get these 1x like upload speeds when at home, do you think there's maybe something wrong with the tower its getting the signal from around here? or is it maybe cause the tower around here is just very congested?

    to fdnj:

on the app in results, up on top hit the email looking icon. select send to text or email. then read thru all the text and find and select ONLY the image link. it starts with http:// and ends with .png. cut it and paste the link into the forums here (click the picture icon and post the link in that box so it posts the picture properly with the [IMG]

When I first got my Thunderbolt I saw downloads over 20mbs sometimes but now in the Downtown Denver area I see anywhere from 3mbs to 8mbs

But I also have a Evo and I never have seen anything over 4mbs and usually I don't have any 4g and the Spring 3g speeds I see are around .2-.5mbs .. So I'm happy with that

edit :: Uploads have always been around 1.5mbs but this morning my two test were 800kbps and 600kbps .. I'm not going to upload too much work but it is slower then I remember but Idon't really upload very often so I can deal with it

yeah but download and upload work together not just if your uploading something thats why both up and down arrows always show

4G Speeds in Northern VA have been very slow in recent weeks compared to last spring. I've been unable to stream my online radio programs, and even my Audiogalaxy music from my FIOS home server to my phone is no longer working without drop-outs. It's getting very frustrating.

It took several attempts to even get that Speedtest.net result; it kept breaking mid-test due to "network errors".

Even my 3G areas are dropping connections now sporadically. I'm very disappointed.

went to verizon store thats down the block from me and did speed test on a thunderbolt and got the same results as my phone so i know its not my phone now and must be the tower its receiving 4g from in this area. maybe il give verizon a call see if they can check the tower and see if its broken or something
