Not to be a complete noob/fanboy but I am hoping to get the new Android OS today. Has anyone had any luck? (can I believe the rumors?)

I doubt you're gonna get that update today (or anytime soon). Wasn't the rumor for the 23rd?

We've known for a long time there was not going to be an update today. Sprint officially announced that 2.1 would be coming in the first half of 2010, and then announced it would be in Q2 of 2010, which means it could be as soon as April 1 (which I doubt).

April 1? Hope no one spreads an April Fools joke. :)

Do you guys think that by the time the 2.1 update comes, the phone will come with it when you purchase it? Or should you update it once you have purchased the phone?

I just got off the phone with a tech (in the know) 2010/02/23 16:41 and he said he could not tell me the exact day for the Android 2.1 update, because they have heard a couple of scenarios but they are looking at very soon,

    between march and june.

That's exactly what we've known for a long time.

I was in today. Nada. The Sprint Rep (who's phone was a Moment) stated late March, FWIW.

He said late March, so assume mid-late July.
