    how to force the Eris to take an update when one's in the stream?

    That I know of is "Settings/About phone/System updates"

    And no you can't get 2.1 just yet...

    If your trying to catch 2.1, your out of luck unless you live in one of the first areas of the release. (not saying it has been released yet, please don't get too excited)

    Yea, but that just tells you if there's an update available (i.e. has been downloaded and is ready to apply I think). In the case of a rolling update, that won't show anything until the update gets to you.

    What I'm looking for is a way to force the update to happen...

    *#*#CHECKIN#*#* was what I was thinking of, but found too that it didn't really do anything.

    Note, sparking is normal when this update is being applied, it is all of the bits being rewritten to 2.1.
