Just wondering. I occasionally come across threads of people posting results of dropping their phone (which vary from nothing happened to screen totally shattered and phone unusable), and those threads get filled with people talking about what happened when they dropped their phone. I had a TMobile G1 when it first came out in 08. After a year of being disappointed with TMobile 3G coverage I switched to Verizon and bought an OG Droid. Upgraded to the GNex when it was finally released last month. I've never dropped any of those 3 phones. Is that really that abnormal? Has nobody else never dropped their smartphone, and yes, I mean only smartphones, because I did indeed drop various non-smart phones over the many years (10+) prior to buying my G1, but none of those were remotely as expensive as any of the smartphones I've owned. I've never used any sort of case or screen protector. The Droid did end up with a very small scratch (~1/8th inch long) that was only visible when glare reflected off the screen at just the right angle, after two years of use. Have never paid for any sort of insurance, protection plan, extended warranty, etc, and would never think of paying for one.
