    A little background,

today I found out via HTC facebook page that because of technical limitations such as lack of internal memory (as HTC were very stingy with internal memory) that a 2.3 with Sense update wont be available for original desire.

I'm wondering who's running HTC Desire with 2.3 using Sense 2.1...I've heard some are runnning Sense 3.0 on their HTC Desire thanks to custom roms. What I want to know is:

    1. What's the internal memory like after installing Android 2.3 with Sense 2.1 on HTC Desire. Is the memory still pretty limited?

    2. What's the stability like?

    3. What's performance like?

I'm coming close to rooting my phone for Gingerbread/Sense 2.1 as I still have over 12 months left on phone contract before I can get better phone.

    Cheers everyone!! :)

I'm not on Sense, though I'm on Android v2.3.3.
    Have a look here
at people who are on GB Sense. Perhaps, even pm them to reply to this topic.

Well I have had RCMix S which is 2.3 with Sense 2.1 with a bit of Sense 3.0 as well. It works pretty well. It's pretty stable and performance is alright. You can just get roms with just Sense 2.1 if you like.

When you install a custom rom, they have what's called A2SD (Apps 2 SD). There are variation like d2ext (data 2 ext) but it's the same basis. They use a script which tells apps to get installed to the SD card. The SD card needs an ext partition on it in the first place but it's not hard to do really.

I'm running the rom in my sig and it's very stable, pretty quick and battery life is good.

It's the best sense rom I have tried thus far(I've tried quite a few) and I can't see myself changing it any time soon.
