Referring to this thread:

...has anyone checked the vocode setting following the update? I'm sure it would have addressed call quality, but I was wondering if signal reception has improved (if an issue for you previously) based on that change, or any others.

The call quality on my end has improved, and I haven't had a complaint about sound issues from people I talk to since the update happened. I don't know if the actual setting has changed, but in my very non-scientific opinion, the update helped.

I changed it before the update based on those directions. It is still set to -B after the update.

Roger that.

Hmmm, I wonder if reception actually has improved via "software" given same codecs in use? Dare I give up my n900 and T-Mo's $10/m 7Mb+ access? Decisions, decisions...

I don't know because I wasn't having issues before I changed it. I can't say that it made any difference. It just didn't hurt

Yeah, the reports of "improved signal/reception" are varied at best. It looks like the Milestone isn't able to get "any" 3G reception on T-Mo nor AT&T, so that's out...I may try VZ one more time after 2.1 upgrade. Verizon Tripple play may ultimately be worth it.

Thanks for the updates.
