I dont know if this has been posted but, I tried updating to froyo twice now, I am rooted and the only thing changed is the superuser icon, I am not sure but i think thats what "bloatware" is referred to? If so is that all I need to remove?

SU is not bloatware. Bloatware is Verizon installed apps that cannot be removed without root. Are you going from one leak 2.2 to the newest one? If so, are you mounting the system in clockwork recovery before you run the zip?

If you are trying to install the Official 2.2 with a rooted phone, I do not believe that will work. Also if you have any of the true "Bloatware" removed you will not be able to install the factory update either. Also if you have a leaked 2.2 rom, FlyX, or tranquility installed you will have to SBF to the OE 2.1 rom to install the factory update
